Abrasive Wheels Training

I was recently sent a photo of a leg injury caused by an abrasive wheel. It was horrendous — and one I’ve now been given permission to use in my training decks.

But here’s the thing:

  • That image shouldn’t exist.

  • That injury shouldn’t have happened.

I don’t share graphic content lightly — but I do believe in honest, practical training that sticks so will use with warning. Too many people are handed an abrasive wheel and expected to just "get on with it," or assume it won't happen to them. But the reality is these tools can cause life-changing harm when things go wrong.

  • In my Abrasive Wheel Awareness Training, we cover:

  • What are Abrasive Wheels

  • The requirements of the regulations

  • Hazards arising from use and precautions to take

  • Wheel types and identification markings

  • Testing and inspection (for damage)

  • Function of all components and the correct method of mounting and balancing

  • Methods of dressing an abrasive wheel

  • The adjustment of the tool rest

  • Storage, handling and transporting wheels

Whether you're looking for First Aid, Health & Safety, Mental Health Awareness, Fire Safety, or Manual Handling, I am dedicated to providing training solutions that ensure your team is fully equipped to handle challenges confidently and competently.
